These Terms and Services (“Terms”) govern your access to the website shadeslikethese.com (the “Site”) operated by Shades Like These (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and describe the conditions under which we provide information about home improvement services. By accessing or using the Site, submitting a form, or subscribing to communications, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
The Site is intended to provide general information about residential remodeling, repairs, painting, flooring, and related home improvement topics. Content on the Site—including project photos, pricing ranges, service descriptions, and blog-style articles—is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a binding offer, guarantee of availability, or promise of a particular outcome.
Any formal scope of work, schedule, warranty, or price will be set out only in a written agreement signed by you and an authorized representative of Shades Like These after consultation and, where applicable, site evaluation.
You represent that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you submit information on behalf of a household, property owner, or organization, you represent that you have authority to do so.
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide through contact forms, quote requests, subscription forms, or other interactive features. Misleading, fraudulent, or abusive submissions may result in refusal of service and restriction of Site access.
Published pricing tiers, “starting at” figures, and package descriptions on the Site are illustrative. Actual project costs depend on labor, materials, site conditions, permitting, access, and change requests. We reserve the right to modify published pricing information at any time without notice.
Payment terms for contracted work— including deposits, progress payments, retainage, and accepted methods—will be specified in your project agreement. Unless otherwise stated in that agreement, deposits are non-refundable once materials are ordered or scheduling resources are committed.
When you engage Shades Like These for on-site work, you agree to provide reasonable access to the property, secure pets, and identify any known hazards (asbestos, lead paint, unstable structures, buried utilities, etc.). Delays caused by lack of access, incomplete owner selections, or third-party inspections may adjust timelines and costs.
You remain responsible for maintaining appropriate homeowner’s insurance and for decisions regarding permits unless your agreement explicitly assigns permit procurement to us.
We may recommend or install materials supplied by manufacturers or distributors. Manufacturer warranties pass through to you where applicable. Our workmanship warranty, if offered, will be described in your signed agreement and excludes normal wear, owner misuse, modifications by others, or damage from events outside our control (including weather, pests, or latent structural issues discovered after work begins).
All Site content—including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, layouts, and software—is owned by Shades Like These or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works, publicly display, or exploit Site content without prior written permission.
The Shades Like These name, logo, and related marks may not be used in a manner that suggests endorsement or affiliation without consent.
When you submit messages, photos, reviews, or other content through the Site, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content for responding to your inquiry, planning services, marketing (with your separate consent where required), and improving our operations. You represent that your submissions do not violate third-party rights or applicable law.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHADES LIKE THESE AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON SITE CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SITE (OTHER THAN LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW) SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (USD $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SPECIFIC SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shades Like These from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Site, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights through content you provide.
The Site may contain links to third-party websites or social platforms. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Accessing third-party sites is at your own risk.
We may update these Terms periodically. The “Effective date” at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes may also be communicated via email where we have your contact information and consent.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction specified in your signed service agreement, or otherwise by the laws of the state in which Shades Like These maintains its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Except where prohibited, you agree that disputes arising under these Terms or the Site will be resolved through binding arbitration or small-claims court as set forth in your service agreement, or if none exists, through courts of competent jurisdiction.
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any signed project agreement, constitute the entire agreement regarding Site use unless superseded by a written contract for specific services.
Remodeling and repair services may involve demolition, dust, noise, and temporary loss of use of portions of your home. You acknowledge that hidden conditions—such as outdated wiring, mold, rot, or insufficient framing—may be discovered after work begins. When this occurs, we will document findings with photos, explain options, and provide a change order for your approval before proceeding with additional work.
Paint and finish colors may appear different on your walls than on sample chips due to lighting, substrate, and sheen. We recommend test patches on multiple walls before full application. Flooring and tile layouts may require adjustment near walls, transitions, or fixed obstacles to maintain structural integrity and drainage slopes in wet areas.
Unless you opt out in writing before or during your project, we may photograph completed work for portfolio, website, and social media use without identifying your name or street location. We will not publish images that reveal personal documents, license plates, or security-sensitive details visible in frame.
Neither party shall be liable for delays or failures resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, supply chain interruptions, labor strikes, epidemics, government orders, or utility outages. Timelines and pricing will be adjusted fairly to reflect such events.
